Why is HP Product Assistant Important?
HP Product Assistant simplifies the process of finding solutions to problems that may arise with your HP products. HP Product Assistant proactively offers solutions as soon as problems occur. How does HP Product Assistant work?
The HP Product Assistant works in coordination with your HP products. When a problem occurs, it is reported to HP Product Assistant. HP Product Assistant checks its local copy of the solution list on your PC to determine if a solution is available. HP Product Assistant notifies you only when a solution is available. To be most effective and to offer you the latest solutions, the HP Product Assistant solution list needs to be kept up to date. By default, HP Product Assistant is enabled to automatically update the solution list every 30 days. You can change the update interval on the Preferences page.

When Does HP Product Assistant Run?
HP Product Assistant only runs briefly if and when a problem is reported by one of your HP products. If enabled to automatically update the solution list, HP Product Assistant also runs briefly to check HP's support website for the latest solution list. The default interval for HP Product Assistant is to check for updates once every 30 days.

How Does HP Protect My Privacy??

The IP address of your computer will be used only to transmit this data. HP Product Assistant does not create any unique identifier that can be used to identify your computer. HP Product Assistant does not collect your name, address, email address, or other form of personally identifiable information.
